The Maimonides Minyan is a Zionist congregation, committed and dedicated to the support and advancement of Medinat Yisrael.  Most of our families have immediate family members who are now living in Israel, and in recent years we have even celebrated a half-dozen member families making Aliyah themselves.

We pray for Israel each week, mourn its losses, and celebrate its continued growth.  Our annual Yom Yerushalayim Barbecue is a highlight of the year for many.  We celebrate Yom Haatzmaut each year on both the accepted date for celebration in Israel, and also on the 5th of Iyar.

Because of our connection to Medinat Yisrael, we regularly host Israeli scholars as guests bi-anually, and have special lectures and activities about the situation in Israel, including activities like:

• Shabbaton about responses to terror in Modern Israel
• Discussion of the Origins of the prayer for the state and its modern applications
• Briefing on issues in the upcoming elections in Israel
• The state of the Lone Soldier in Israel
